Dave and Phil Alvin founded the now-legendary roots music band the Blasters. But they couldn’t get along.
Until the day Phil Alvin was declared dead.
Now the brothers have cut two joint albums and they’re on tour together.
The Big Fat Wide Americana Hour was recently granted backstage access to a Dave and Phil Alvin show. And we sat down in the dressing room for an exclusive interview with Dave Alvin.
Tune in and hear him talk about the split, about what went through his mind when he heard his brother had died, and what it is like to record with him again after a gap of 30 years.
And most of all, groove on the music. It’s great.
Starting this Saturday, April 23. Hear it here: http://mdspenser.wix.com/mdspenser
And remember – turn it up! Happy listening!
